Pepper stays hot on supply-demand mismatch

The pepper market was so hot last week that the prices of active contracts shot up by over Rs 5,000 a quintal during the week. Good domestic demand amid tight supply scenario pushed the market up to such higher levels that the sellers were said to have demanded Rs 360 a kg for farm grade pepper.
